My game has frozen every time player 1 dies, is there a fix to this?

Sonic mid-air F is super powerful, its too fast and the AI cant counter-attack and it keep bouncing them upwards so you can do it for a long time.

Yeah, but you can only do three gatlings so there are gaps the enemy can exploit

press 1/2/3/4 to activate it, and you cant disable it for the rest of fight btw

so i have this concept, where you pick between balanced around being a playable character goomba and balanced about being a story mode enemy goomba that you can switch between by pressing up and down on the character select and playable goomba gets specials and new mechanics and shit while enemy goomba gets none of that shit and just kinda sucks and by default you pick the playable goomba

Special button is still in purgatory right now. Still thinking on how I'm going to add it. Also, could you give a detailed description on what a "flash kick" means, never heard of it (I'm assuming a tatsu is the spinning kick Ryu has but I'm not quite sure).

some super ideas:
mar: mario dashes fowards a enemy and spins with a hammer, multi hitting , then slams the hammer, ground bouncing, jumps, vertically spins it, then crashes it into a ground, giving a slide down.
lui: thunder misfire (smash side B), on hit luis travels back and back and back until lui crashes into the floor, triple bouncing
gom: cool freestyle combo, ends with 3 flash kicks into a dive kick
son: rdy??? gu!!! son moves around with you controlling at light speed, ramming into enemies, ends when you hit a wall, where sonic just multi homing attacks into smashing spin kick

Also, an infinite I discovered (works on everyone except for Goomba obviously)! CH or DR -> SD -> AM (technically optional since it's not really required) -> ACH -> SD -> AH -> SD -> DR. It's pretty precise, especially for Sonic, but pretty easy to pull off.


Edit: Turns out you need to ACH twice for Sonic, still works for the Bros tho. So for Sonic, it would be CH or DR -> SD -> AM (optional) -> ACH -> SD -> AM (optional) -> ACH -> SD-> AH -> SD -> DR. Still not too complicated

Now find one for goomba

This isn't true. A.CH--->SD drops it, and DR just kinda...stops SD.

I mean, it works consistently for me (especially with Sonic cuz his SD is broken) but you could try AM to stun them in the air for a bit

Literally have somebody else dragon rush during your air C.H-SD and you'll see. Also Air M is kinda broken with everyone but goomba :(

I hope that somebody yellow comes in, just think that they deserve a non-cannon comeback

ok ok.... how does blocking work, for some reason i just can't nail it down from blocking randomly and activating it myself.

Move in any direction to block.


Certain moves cannot be blocked (usually heavy attacks or something else that's slow)

You can not block mid-air.

Blocking makes follow-ups miss for a small amount of time.

You can't block moves with high knockback, that's why most heavies are unblockable.

Let's get the obvious out of the way, Sanic is here

Wall bounces are a thing, if you use certain moves too close to the wall, the enemy gets flinged away from said wall

Mario and Luigi have to use meter to use fireballs, and Luis has thunder now

I used the fighting engine from Hobson TV. Project started January of this year. I could add the prototype from May if you want to see.

Bursts along with transformations will be after the gamepad update, which should come before December.

Different color pallettes will increase the file size by A LOT, so I try to avoid that. Power ups like cape Luigi are possible, tho. Besides that, all I can do are hue shifts and flashing tbh.

That's Understandable but i feel like in the end the file size is gonna be big either way but idk

Here's a detailed explanation:
Right now the game is only ~46mb. Mario's sprites are worth ~6mb. If I add fire Mario, I have to duplicate every sprite(over 100), change the colors, and change the code to support different color palettes. That's 13mb for one character. Assuming everyone else's sprites are also worth 6mb and they each have one transformation, that means the game will now take over 100mb by the time I finish the characters already in the game.

TL;DR, I have to duplicate everything, basically doubling the file size of the game from ~46mb to ~92mb.

You're probably right about the file size eventually being massive either way, tho

Besides mecha sonic, he's bad (bc he's not done, he's basically a Mario clone with a light auto combo that sends you to the 4th dimension, which isn't really that good besides the extra damage).

Idea:
Dramatic Finish

Hit with a knockback move, and if the characters have a  special relationship cutscene built in then activate a cutscene ending with the enemy dying. Otherwise, just send them through a wall to represent a wall break. Removes the corpse in FFA matches if you get the basic Dramatic Finish.

Example:
Mecha VS Yoshi.
Mecha lands E.
OH SHIT REMAKE EPISODE 2 TIME
If FFA, Mecha ends with a knockback blow

Mario VS Sonis
Mario lands GGG-E
OH SHIT MARIO IS FREESTYLING


Mario VS Goomba
Mario lands Jumping E

New button idea:
Special attack

Allows specials such as mario fireball with a press
Light is done by default, Med and Heavy specials are done by doing M-Special (special cancels it frame one) or H-Special

Med and Heavies can be buffed up specials OR entirely new moves, preferably the former.

Holding a direction will give you a different special
Example: H-2S-H-H= Spin Jump Start-Launch-Drill (Mario)
M-6S-L, M or H= Tripping Grab into Flip Kick (Luigi)
H-8S= Double Flip Kick (Goomba)

Could make a entirely new meta idk+ we only have 5 buttons (movement will be on joystick) so this would allow usage of the face buttons+ L and R  buttons

























And yes, you have to give Goomba a tatsu, (preferably akuma's)  a flash kick, and a divekick

You could put it on left trigger or downwards button to replace jump more preferably left trigger and for keyboard C will do for P1, L for P2, and I do not know about every other keyboarder

We have a actual true combo route! 5LLL (Mario) into C.L allows you to go into C.M, leading into a delayed C.H and a full combo! Loius may not be able to, and I really want goomba buffs.

5=infinite juggle stun untill landing
6= goomba ai summon ( has 10% hp)
7= bomb-om summon (explodes on contact of a person while in hitstun [can't be the person who hit it, but you can play tennis with said bomb]
8= dynamic camera toogle
9= sudden death! (lots of bomb-oms
0= boss goomba (big goomba, has 150% of goomb's health)
- or _ = explode corpses (useful for mecha sonic or robots in general, boom has a wall sticking hitbox)

Yes, the game is still being updated. There are no command inputs as of now, though (if you mean stuff like 236X, 214X, etc.). Closet thing I can think of are combo routes (Examples: L-L-L-H-M x 8 for Mario).

oh, ok

To parry, you have to walk, then stop moving right before the attack hits. And yes, there are more of those moves too (Like M>H in the air as Luigi , or L>L>M as Mario)
